YJS urges president to interfere to close file of cartoons’ case
SANA’A, Dec 03 (Saba.net)-The Yemen Journalist Syndicate (YJS) urged on Sunday President Ali Abdullah Saleh to interfere to close the file concerning with the newspapers that re- publishing the cartoons, which insulted prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The YJS first deputy Saeed Thabet said that the syndicate prepared a letter for President Saleh in this regard. The recent sentence against editor in chief of al-Ray al-Am newspaper will not serve interest of the nation and its reputation. Recently, the South Sana’a court sentenced one year in jail against the editor in chief of al- Rai al- Aam newspaper in charge of re-publishing the blasphemous cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) which have been published by Danish newspaper last year.
