Yemen will witness flow of investments over coming months, says Saleh
ADEN, Nov 19 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh said that Yemen would witness a flow of investments over the coming months. In an interview with the Cairo-based al-Sa’ydah Satellite Channel, President Saleh said that Yemen has received many orders from Yemeni, Arab and foreign investors and companies, including US, British and France companies. President Saleh pointed most of the orders asking for having investments in Aden in fields of housing, industrial and health projects. “We give much priority for attracting investments to Aden province due to its crucial geographic location and it is the economic and commercial capital of Yemen and free trade zone”, said Saleh. President Saleh affirmed that the government would work on achieving comprehensive reforms as well as fighting corruption and absorbing unemployment through establishing strategic projects. President Saleh said much efforts should be exerted to improve the investment climate and develop the factors of tourist attraction for encouraging investors to establish big investments in the country. ” Tourism is an important resource like oil and gas resources and provides domestic economy with foreign currencies. We will pay more attention to the tourist sector”, added Saleh. Replying to a question on the Yemeni-Egyptian relations, Saleh said that the two countries’ relations have been deep-rooted over years and nothing can damage the friendly relationships between the two brotherly countries.
