Yemen, Italy to sign four pacts during Saleh’s visit

SANA’A, (Saba) – Four agreements and protocols on joint cooperation would be signed during the coming visit by President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Italy, Italian ambassador in Yemen Gia Como Sanfelice said. Sanfelice said in an interview with the 26 September weekly newspaper published Thursday that one agreement would be signed by Yemeni and Italian foreign ministries for identifying periodical meetings between them. The second accord would be signed between interior ministries on security fields and fighting the organized crime. Other agreements on investments and double taxation would be signed. The ambassador said the visit of President Saleh to Italy is very important as he would hold talks with his Italian counterpart Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and a number of officials there dealing with mutual relations and a number of international issues as well as peace in the world and Middle East. Sanfelice highlighted the Yemeni-Italian deep-rooted mutual cooperation relations and praised the Yemeni achievements in various fields, especially in human rights and fighting terrorism. JW/KM SABA
