We hope G77 plus China summit to have fruitful decisions: president

DOHA, June 14 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived on Tuesday evening in Doha of Qatar to head Yemen’s delegation to the second summit of G77 and China. President Saleh was welcomed by the Minister of State for Interior Affairs Abdullah bin Naser bin Khalifa al-Thani and other Qatari officials. Upon his arrival, president Salel stated to the reporters as saying ” I am happy to participate in the summit that coincides with the present challenges on the economic level, particularly globalization. He indicated to the problem of increasing poverty and unemployment as well as phenomena of terror and extremism. ” These challenges should be the concern of the rich countries to offer aid to the poor countries in order to support them to realize sustainable development,” he said, “the poverty and the high rate of unemployment in addition to the absence of international justice and double standards create a good environment for growing terrorism, violence and extremism.” He added that the summit has to come out with clear visions that activate the role of G77 plus China. He appreciated the initiative of Qatari Emir to host the summit, wishing the summit will result in decisions that may attain the international justice and establish strong economic ties. AH/NS SABA
