We feel sorrow for US support to Sharon plan: Saleh
SANA’A, April 17 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh expressed on Saturday sorrow for US support to plans of Arael Sharon against Palestinians. During his meeting with Palestinian Minister of Telecommunications and Technology Azam al-Ahmed, president Saleh said that the plan disagrees with resolutions of the international legitimacy and stands against efforts to obtain fair peace in the region. President Saleh reaffirmed Yemen’s support to Palestinians struggling to gain their legal rights and setting up their independent state and its capital al-Quds. The Palestinian official handed over a message from the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to President Ali Abdullah Saleh concerning the current developments in the Palestinian territories in light of Israeli aggressions against Palestinian people. The message dealt with Sharon’s plan, supported by United States, which harms rights of the Palestinian people and disagrees the international law. The message also includes an urgent call for holding Arab summit to seek solutions for Arab-Israeli conflict and Israeli barbaric behaviours. President Saleh underlined the importance of holding Arab summit as soon as possible to unify viewpoints and stances against the latest challenges. President Saleh asked the Palestinian official to convey his regards to his brother president Yasser Arafat.
