WB President to arrive in Sana’a on February 13

SANA’A, Feb 3 (Saba)- President of the World Bank James Wolfensohn will arrive in Sana’a on February 13-16 to hold talks with Yemeni officials on enhancing Yemeni-WB cooperation. A planning ministry official that Wolfensohn would hold talks with President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Prime Minister Abdul-Qader Ba-Jammal, and other government officials on possible means of enhancing WB-Yemen cooperation in economic fields. “The visit will be a good chance for chewing over Yemeni efforts in economic development, fighting poverty and reduction of unemployment.” “WB is a strategic partner of Yemen in carrying out its program of economic reform, the annual support of the WB to Yemen reaches $200 million in various development fields.
