Vice President calls for creating work opportunities to the disabled people

SANA’A, Dec. 09 (Saba)- Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi called on private sector to help government in creating work opportunities to disabled people, confirming country’s keenness on taking care of the handicapped and encouraging their talents. The vice president said in his speech he delivered Sunday on the occasion of International Day of Disabled People that there are many disabled in Yemen who have abilities and talents of creation and invention and need support and care for developing these talents. “I hail your efforts, your rush and your strong intention on performing your active role and contributions in building and developing your precious homeland,” Hadi said, pointing that celebration of this occasion reflects societies’ appreciation to the role played by this sect. He confirmed to them that the country “with its all means will continue its care to the disabled” and that the country’s early concern of them is reflected by President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s great care and concern to the handicapped. He said that the country has allocated 5 percent of public employment positions to the disabled and directed concerned government bodies for easing all difficulties faced by associations of the disabled and providing all what they need for guarantying implementation of qualification and training programs. For her part, Minister of Social and Labor Affairs Amat al-Razzaq Humad reviewed governmental role in supporting disabled by taking care, qualification, enacting laws, specifying supportive funds to them and establishing Supreme National Committee for Rights of the disabled.
