SP meets former Sir Lankan president

SANA’A, Dec. 09 (Saba)- Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra’ae held a meetings with the former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumar and Jackie Weatherspoon, former member of the state committee “Obama for Women,” who are currently visiting Yemen.They briefed the speaker on the political experiments for women and means of supporting women to be in post of decision making.In the meeting, the chairperson of Yemen Women Union Ramzih al- Eryan reviewed results of a workshop re to take part in a workshop formulated to empower women’s voting rights and participation knowledge, to take place on Tuesday in Sana’a.The two-day workshop was being organized by the Yemeni Women Union and the Club of Madrid in collaboration with the National Organization for Community Development.The speaker wished for the two officials a good stay in Yemen, reviewing Yemen’s democratic experiment He affirmed support of the political leadership represented by President Ali Abdullah Saleh for women political participation.AH
