Somali president meets Yemen ambassador

MOGADISHU, Jan. 11(Saba)- The Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed received on Thursday in the capital Mogadishu, Yemen’s ambassador to Somalia Ahmed Omar who conveyed President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s greetings to His Excellency. Omar reiterated Yemen’s firm stand to support the Somali transitional federal institutions and call for dialogue between all Somali politicalfactions to settle security and stability in the African country. For his part, the Somali president Ahmed expressed deep thanks and appreciation of the Yemeni political leadership, represented by president Saleh, forthe huge efforts exerted to support Somalia. “This position proves the historical relations connecting both countries and the Somali government is in its way to hold conciliation with the different Somali political forces for the sake of secure and stable Somalia.”he said.
