Saleh, Putin hold talks

MOSCOW, April 6 (Saba) – The Russian President Vladimir Putin received on Tuesday President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The two leaders held talks discussed bilateral relations and joint cooperation. They also exchanged viewpoints as to regional developments and efforts exerted to fight terror. Yemeni-Russian relations have been increasingly developing since our last meeting, Putin said. He stated that Russian businessmen and companies are willing to invest in Yemen, and that Russia intends to intensify economic and trade exchange with Yemen. Russian President appreciated efforts exerted by President Saleh in fields of development and democracy, and pointed that Russian viewpoints are identical to Yemeni ones as for all issues they discussed, specially those relating to regional peace and security. The meeting also dealt Yemeni opinions as for situations in Iraq and Palestine, how to place peace in the region and the role must be played by UN to resettle peace in Iraq and, to help Iraqis get self-governed country, to help preserve Iraqi national unit, as well as to solve the Arabic-Israeli struggle by executing the International Judicial Sanctions in this respect. We emphasize on the importance of role played by Russia in driving regional peace process forward, Saleh said. Saleh welcomed Russian investors, and more cooperation between the two countries.
