Saleh meets heads of Arab delegations partaking in Sirt summit
SIRT, Oct.09 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh met Saturday on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab summit held in Sirt, Libya, with a number of heads of Arab delegations participating in the summit. President Saleh met with Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al- Thani, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmed al-Sabah,Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali , Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Comorian President Ahmed Abdallan Sambi, and Secretary General of Arab League Amr Moussa. Saleh discussed with each of them individually the topics included in the agenda of the extraordinary Arab summit, stressing the importance of coming out with successful outcomes to activate the joint Arab action and develop its mechanisms to enhance the Arab integration and partnership, in addition to the regional and international developments that concern the Arab nation. Talks in the meetings also dealt with the bilateral relations between Yemen and each country and means of boosting them to serve the common interests of Yemen people and the brotherly peoples of those countries. During these meetings, President Saleh expressed his appreciation to the brotherly countries participating in the Group of Friends of Yemen for their active role in supporting Yemen’s security, stability and development.
