Saleh inspects Aden hotels ahead of football cup

ADEN, Nov. 20 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on Friday inspection visits to some hotels in Yemen’s business capital of Aden, few days before the 20th Gulf Football Cup opens. He toured al Qasr tourist complex in al Hiswa and inspected the final touches to the $ 200-million project. The project, which covers 250000 meters, is being implemented in two stages: the first was the five-star hotel, which will accommodate senior visitors and sports missions accompanying the teams participating in the championship.The second stage involves the construction of a tourist city that will include well-equipped villas and resident units. Saleh also visited the five-star Aden hotel and was briefed on the final touches within its renovation and rehabilitation. Moreover, he visited the special operation room of the 20th Gulf Cup where he was received by Defense and Interior Ministers as well as other security officials. He inspected progress on the room and arrangements to hold the championship in a very secure atmosphere. On his visits, he told reporters he was glad about all arrangements for hosting the championship through November 22 to December 05 in Aden and Abyan. Aden is ready for the hosting, and Yemen welcomes its guests from the GCC member states and Iraq, he said, as he praised all efforts aimed at making the event a success and introducing the guests into Yemen’s spirit and hospitality.
