Saleh inaugurates development projects in Amran

AMRAN, July 18 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh launched on Wednesday different development projects in Amran governorate. He opened new production line of Amran cement factory with capacity of 1.7 million tons yearly. President pointed out to studies of setting up five strategic dams in the governorate at a total of YR1 billion, in addition to supplying 200 villages with electricity and carrying out a road project. Addressing officials of the governorate and members of the local council, President expressed thanks for the efforts exerted in the project of the new production line which creates more than one thousand jobs. He said that the government calls on foreign companies to invest in Yemen in order to create job opportunities for youths to reduce unemployment in the society. Saleh said that there are offers to invest in cement field in al-Jawf governorate, making it clear that three cement factories are under construction in Hadarmout and Lahj governorates. President pointed out to achievement that have been achieved since revolution and reunification in education, health and roads as well as freedom of expression. He clarified that press and satellite channels are good means to tell officials about their mistakes to correct but they should not be used to offend them. Saleh affirmed that the governorate of Amran would receive good care, promising establishing of further service projects. He said that around 800 million was allocated to set up a university in the governorate. FR/AH/AM
