Saleh heads cup organizing committee meeting
ADEN, Nov. 19 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired on Friday the meeting of the 20th Gulf Cup organizing committee in Aden. Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi and Premier Ali Mujawar were in attendance. He was briefed on the report by Minister for Youth and Sports Hamoud Ubad, head of the committee, on final arrangements for hosting the championship through November 22 to December 05 in Aden and Abyan.The report highlighted the preparation of reception and housing facilities, stadiums and training facilities for the guest teams and accompanying missions as well as security, technical, media and cultural arrangements to make the event a success. The minister said all arrangements have been completed with the country being one hundred per cent ready for hosting the championship. Saleh was also briefed on a report on security measures to hold it in a very secure atmosphere. He praised major efforts by all concerned authorities to prepare for the championship that were mainly introducing Yemen’s civilized spirit and its people hospitality and showing the ability to host such a sports event. The championship will provide the Yemeni people with the opportunity to send a brotherly and civilized message to all those who love and respect them, containing strides Yemen has witnessed in various sectors, he said. Moreover, he urged to continue to work hard and spare no effort to make it a success, pointing to the interaction of all Yemenis, mainly those in Aden and Abyan, and all organizations with this important sports event. Saleh arrived at noon in Aden on a visit during which he will attend the cup opening ceremony and launch developmental projects in various sectors. FRSaba
