Saleh, Guelleh accent keenness on advancing bilateral relations

DJIBOUTI, Nov. 11 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh and President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti accented on Thursday the joint keenness on progressing the bilateral relations and common interests.During the Yemeni-Djibouti summit, Saleh and Guelleh underlined the necessity to enhance the coordination between the two countries to combat terrorism and piracy and to maintain security and stability in the Horn of Africa and southern the Red Sea.The two presidents emphasized the significance of triggering the joint signed agreements, opening air cargo routes and studying opening a line of maritime transport to smooth the commercial exchange and passengers transport.Moreover, Saleh and Guelleh talked about the cooperation relations in all areas and the possible means to strengthen the security cooperation and information exchange to secure the region in general and the international shipping routes southern the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in particular.The last developments in the regional and international arenas, topped by the situation in Somalia were also reviewed in the summit.Meanwhile, President Saleh has paid a tour around the Djibouti capital and got acquainted with development in there. He also visited container and oil ports and was briefed on the commercial activities in both ports.Upon his arrival earlier today, President Ali Abdullah Saleh talked to media, expressing Yemen’s will to enhance its cooperation relations with Djibouti.”We in Yemen are keen to strengthen and develop relations and expand horizons of cooperation between the two brotherly countries, so as to realize the interests of Yemeni and Djiboutian peoples and security and stability in the region”, Saleh said.He added, “Undoubtedly, what concerns the security in Djibouti concerns Yemen, and vise versa”.President Saleh highly appreciated Djibouti’s supportive positions to Yemen’s unity.AF/AF
