Saleh condoles Portuguese counterpart on victims Madeira

SANA’A, Feb. 22 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh presented on Monday condolences to Portugal’s President Anibal Antonio Cavaco Silva on numerous victims of heavy flood on Madeira island.In condolence letter, President Saleh also presented his sympathy with families and relatives of victims, entire Portugal people on behalf of Yemeni people and his own.Portugal has decreed three days of mourning for the victims of the weekend flash floods.The floods and rockslides claimed 42 lives, including one Briton. The stricken island has suffered the worst storms since 1993 when eight people died.AF/AF
