Saleh calls Putin

SANA’A, March 21 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh telephoned the Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. The two presidents discussed aspects of cooperation in the fields of economy and energy generation, in addition to reviewing developments at the regional and international levels, efforts to push peace process in the Middle East and the international efforts in fighting terrorism. Saleh appreciated bilateral relations, affirming Yemen’s keenness to reinforce the ongoing partnership between the two friend countries and develop it in various fields for the sake of both countries joint interests. For his part, Putin praised the Yemeni-Russian progressing relations, pointing out Yemen’s role in fighting terrorism and confirmed Russia’s support for this role and Russia’s interest in strengthening its relations with Yemen to serve the two countries’ peoples’ interests.
