Saleh, al-Qadhafi hold official talks in Tripoli
TRIPOLI, July 8 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his Libyan counterpart Muammar al-Qadhafi held official talks in Tripoli on Saturday. Al-Qadhafi welcomed president Saleh and his accompanying delegation, pointingout to the strong ties between Yemen and Libya. President Saleh expressed thank for warm welcome, wishing the visit wouldpush ties between the two countries forward. He expressed admiration fordevelopments happened in Libya in different fields under the leadershipof Colonel Muammar al-Qadhafi. He called on Libyan businessmen to invest in Yemen as Yemeni law of investment granted wonderful facilities. He pointed out to the miserable situation in occupation Palestinian territoriesdue to Israeli aggression, calling on Arab nation and international communityto take required measures to make an end for the suffering of the unarmed Palestinian people. He said that the international community should practice pressure on Israelto comply with International resolutions and roadmap to achieve peacefuland fair settlement which leads to set up independent Palestinian stateand al-Aqsa as its capital. Regarding the situations in Iraq, president Saleh called all political factions in Iraq to dialogue to frustrate any attempts targeting stabilityand unity of Iraqi people. About Somalia, president Saleh called for dialogue and rejection of violence and fighting to protect safety of Somalia. He urged the Transitional Government and the Islamic Court Union in Somalia to adopt principle of dialogue in order to return back of stability forthis African country. Moreover, president Saleh confirmed position of Yemen, which supports unity of Sudan and talks between the Sudanese government and other political parties, especially in Darfur region to prevent any foreign intervention. He renewed Yemen’s position which rejected foreign intervention in Sudaneseinternal affairs. Top officials in both countries attended the talks.Then, the two leaders held close talks. AH/AH SABA
