Russia affirms support for Yemen’s unity, stability

SANA’A, Dec. 29 (Saba)- The Russian ambassador to Yemen has affirmed support of his country to Yemen and its rejection to any harming activities against its unity and stability. In an interview with Al-Seyasiah Paper to be published on Thursday, he said that the Yemeni unity is a big Arab achievement and a regional event which contributed to securing security and stability to the south of the Arabian Peninsula. Whoever tries to cause chaos and return the situation to the pre-unity era, either from inside Yemen or outside, is spiteful of the Yemeni people and its blessed unity, he said, noting that “we are in Russia support the Yemeni unity and go against any suspicious activity.” He praised the good relations of President Ali Abdullah Saleh with the Russian leadership, specially Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The ambassador noted that sea piracy in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden are weird and dangerous as it targets economy and controls freedom of international trade navigating through Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea.
