SANA’A, Oct. 02 (Saba) President Ali Abdullah Saleh set up a Ramadan banquet in the republican palace in which many Yemeni officials, scholars, businessmen, non-governmental organizations heads, Judges and reporters were attended. They congratulated the president on the occasion of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan, and Yemeni revaluation anniversaries, 26 September and 14 October, as well as his overwhelming win in presidential elections. For his part, the president congratulated all attendees on the occasion of Ramadan stressing at the same time that Yemen will see comprehensivere forms politically, economically and socially. ” we authorized the government and specialists to prepare programs to achieve election campaign promises and goals ” Saleh said. He added “According to the programs, we will translate the promises into reality. What we said wasn’t a political address as some think and all know that we keep our words “. He further said that some goals will be achieved in the next six months and others in the next four years, pointing out that there are strategic projects that need time and others need studies and funding and researches, stressing that he will do his best to put an end to influential and illegal acts that som rich people follow in gathering wealth. He further said that people would see developments soon, indicating that water crisis is the only obstacle and it will take long time to solve. ” We have researches and serious trends to generate electricity from nuclear energy in collaboration with USA and Canada and this is not apropaganda, but it’s a serious address and all procedures will be ended” Saleh said. Meanwhile , the president called upon people to keep water through using scientific tools, mentioning that Yemen is seeking to desalinate see water in order to solve water crises in Sana’a and Taiz cities. He cited that Qatfarming exhausts more than 30% of water, confirming that preventing Qat chewing is not an easy matter as that it will take time to end this bad phenomenon through guidance and prevailing awareness among youths as a target to get them give up chewing Qat and spend time by reading and search for what is useful for them. In his speech, he talked about devastating situations in Iraq and Somalia saying that Yemeni people realized what is going on there, however they chosen stability, safety and freedom when they went for voting in the 20th of September elections.
