President visits unified automatic issuance center for police services in Sana’a
SANA’A, Jan.01 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit on Tuesday to the Unified Automatic Issuance Center for Police Services of the Interior Ministry in Sana’a city. President Saleh was briefed by the officials of the center on the services presented to the citizens such as issuance of identity cards, passports, driving licenses and other services. The officials said that the center was set up to make measures of getting these documents easily. The center, opened last November, 2007, is the second one in the country as the first was built in Hodeidah governorate. According to the officials, the ministry is working to set up new three centers in Aden, Taiz and Hadramout governorates. President Saleh hailed setting up such centers that offer services to the citizens by using modern means, asking the minister to extend building such centers across the country. He gave orders to the Interior Ministry and the Justice Ministry to tackle issue of the vehicles which are seized by the Traffic Department for long time to send issues of these vehicles to court as soon as possible. During his visit, president was accompanied by Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Rashad al-Alimi. AH/AM Saba
