President visits Taiz University
TAIZ, May 14(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid Sunday a visit to Taiz University where he listened to the rector of the university Mohammed al-Sufi on academic and construction developments in the
university. In the university, president Saleh delivered a speech in which he expressed pleasure for what have been achieved in the
university compared to the past when there were merely few colleges and students. He pointed out that Taiz governorate has the biggest
population rate compared to other Yemeni governorates, praising role of technical and professional institutes in Taiz which qualify
students to join labor market. He called on the government and concerned authorities to pay further attention to improving technical
and professional institutes. He also made clear that the government was working to find solutions for reducing rate of unemployment
through enable university graduates canfind the jobs which suit with their qualifications. President said to the audience that he
discussed, after his visit to China,with the officials in the government how to make use of other’s experiencesuch as China in
establishing small enterprises which help in reducing unemployment.
He urged the private sector to contribute to development and help in creating work opportunities and not to load the government with all the development responsibilities.
He also called the private sector to cooperate with the government in solving water shortage problem in Taiz.
President Saleh pointed out to the political situations in abroad and its influences on the investment activities, saying “Our country is
thebest country and stable. We call on the businessmen to come to invest in field of the water, industry or agriculture”.
He announced that he issued orders related to distribution lands for the youths across the country, saying “there is not lands in Taiz or
Sana’abut we may distribute lands in many coastal lands like al-Mukalla ha, al-Sabiha, Bab al-Mandab, al-Khukhah , Mediy, Haradh,
Hadhramout and Aden.”We will distribute these lands for a great number of youths to invest, build houses or to reform it for
agriculture, he saidHe said that the country could not being built by one but by participation of all in making decision, pointing out to the success of the experience of the local council.
Yemen has capacities for all and needs for wisdom as well as benefit from experiences of others to avoid wrongs and mistakes to reform
situationsthrough the civilization behaviors, he said.
Regarding social insurances, president said that the ministry of the social affairs needs researchers to use best ways to distribute
sums of insurances for the poor and peoples of the special needs.
He called for gathering efforts to create job opportunities, adding that these orders would be adopted by the government and the state
corporationsduring the coming few months.
He commented on those who are saying that a lot of money had been spent in the ceremonies, by saying that those people have wrong image
and misunderstanding.
“They believe when we are saying that we organized ceremony in Hadramout and now in Hodhiedh, we spending money for the officials’
pockets” headded.
He said that the spending money is to enhance development process in the seprovinces through the implementing strategic to meet main needs
of thecitizens.
