President visits Ghiman Dam in Sana’a

SANA’A, March 26 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit on Thursday to Ghiman Dam in Sana’a governorate. During the visit, president got acquainted with the water quantity in the dam where the height of waters reached from 6 to 7 meters in some parts of the dam after the recent rains fell in the country. The president affirmed the importance of conserving the rains water for supplying the groundwater, directing the concerned bodies to enlarge in constructing more dams and water barriers so as to avail from the rains water in irrigation and recharging groundwater.
