President urges traders to cooperate in stabilizing prices

SANA’A, July 9(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh urged the traders and businessmen to help the government stabilizes prices of all commodities and supports development. In a meeting with the leaders of the Federation of Trade Chambers and banks officials on Saturday, President Saleh called on the traders to assist the government, which is bound to reduce customs, by assuming the role of stakeholders in the overall development. The president also urged the government to streamline the measures of collecting taxes and controlling evasions. A government and private sector team agreed on a package of rules for easy implementation of the sales tax law. It was also agreed that the ministry of industry would watch out for the normality of the prices. The government even promised to reconsider changing the law of taxes on profits. AA/NS SABA
