President talks with US state official on Somalia

ADEN, Jan. 06(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh held a meeting on Saturday with the US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer over the current developments in Somalia. The talks also focused on means to reinforce and boost bilateral relationsbetween Yemen and the USA in different fields. Frazer acquainted Saleh with the efforts done by the US government to settle security and achieve a permanent and comprehensive reconciliationin Somalia. She expressed the US appreciation for president Saleh and Yemen’s efforts in peacefully recombining Somali factions, praising the care offeredby Yemen for Somali refugees. President Saleh reaffirmed Yemen’s stand towards efforts and procedures pertaining to accomplishing more security and stability in Somalia. He emphasized the significance of collectively offering support for the Somali people so as to prepare suitable atmospheres to carry outa comprehensive development and rebuild the Somali state institutions.
