President Saleh wants donors bankroll reconstruction of Somalia

NAIROBI, Oct 14, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh wants the United States of America, the European Union and all other international donors to bankroll the reconstruction of the turmoil-ravaged Somalia. Speaking on behalf of Yemen in the ceremony installing Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed as a new president for Somalia in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on Thursday, President Saleh said “we call on the United States, the European Union and all other donors to offer prompt help to Somalia so that it can restore stability and security.” He hoped the election of a new President for Somalia would mark an end to “fourteen years of chaos and instability” and that “we see a healthy” and “a democratic Somalia” where the aspirations of all people are realized.
