President Saleh visits Suqatra Island
SUQATRA, Jan 16 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on Tuesday an inspection visit to Suqatra Island. President Saleh toured throughout the Island which considered one of the ten important Islands in the world, because of its various vitality and plants existing in it, and it is also included various kinds of animals, where 75% of animals existing and settled in it considered unique, and haven’t exist all over the world. It also famous of its diversity of sea livings which added another characteristics for the island due to its significant and unique location, located among Arab Sea, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean. There are also more than 900 kinds of unique trees and plants, more than 300 kinds of them haven’t exist their kind all over the world, and limited their existence only on Suqatra Island. Saleh gave his orders to government to finalize the constructive plans of the modern city of Suqatra and its harbor soon. He was received at Suqatra Air port by Hadhramout Governor Abdul Kader Ali Hilal, Commander of Eastern Region Brigadier General Mohammed AliMohsen and members of Local Council and Executive Bureau, Social personalities and senior officials.
