President Saleh visits Mahweet

MAHWEET, Jan 6 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on Tuesday a visit to the Mahweet governorate where he inspected conditions of people. During his visit, President Saleh laid down and opened a number of development projects at a total cost of YR 9 billion. The projects were in fields of roads, water, education and electricity. In a ceremony held in the governorate, President Saleh delivered a speech expressing happiness for projects that were carried out in the governorate during previous five years, such as project Rojom-Bani alAwam road. He said the local councils played a major role in achieving those projects and enhancing services in the governorate. The Mahweet governor Ahmed Ali, in his speech, said that 333 projects worth YR 17.3 billion were implemented during the last five years. The visit of the president to Mahweet comes as part of inspection visits to several governorates in the country. On Monday, President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit to the counties of Beit Al-Fakih, Zabid, Al-Jarahi, Hays, Al-Khawkha and Al-Tahtiya of the governorate of Houdeida where he launched several development projects worth more than YR 3,531,000,000.
