President Saleh visits Iman University
Sana’a, Aug. 21(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Monday a ceremony organized by the religious Iman University on graduating thefourth, fifth and sixth batches of the university students. In his speech, president Saleh highly thanked sheikh Abdul-Majid al-Zindani and the teaching staff for teaching these batches of who will serve the Islam and Muslims. In his address to Arab and foreign ambassadors and diplomats, Saleh refused accusations against the university and confirmed it never teaches extremismbut religious values. “Iman University is one of the Yemeni educational institutions. It graduates scholars and intellectuals and its students are part of the Yemeni people,”said Saleh. The intelligence in some countries sent students to study at the university to know about the curriculum it gives for students, but those students failed in the mission they came for and found only religious books and Islamic values being taught, said Saleh. President Saleh promised to contain the university graduates according to their specifications and to provide the university with sanitation services as well as asphalting its ground and building a mosque to contain 8000 worshipers. Sheikh Abdul-Majid al-Zindani, who runs the university, denied accusations against the university and said those accusations are erroneous. “The university was established to always fill the gap of scholars as the Islamic nation loses those scholars,” said al-Zindani.
