President Saleh visits Bani Mater district

SANA’A, July 17 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid an inspection visit on Saturday to the Bani Mater waterfall where he inspected the construction works for a new dam. During the visit, Saleh listened to detailed explanation by the supervisor engineers of the project about the underway works. They explained the positive results achieved by storing the rain’s water which will contribute as feedback for the underground waters in the area. In addition, the dam contributes in the irrigation of farms around the dam for increasing production of fruits, vegetables and corns. In remarks during the visit, President Saleh underlined the government’sinterest in building dams and water barriers to help feed the underground waters. Afterward, Saleh and the delegation companioning him paid a visit to al-Hemah district, got acquaintance with conditions of the citizens there and their needs of public services, commending the concern sides to accelerate implementation of those projects. He pointed out to the importance of the role played by local councils to fellow up implementation such projects and using the local resourcesto find citizens’ requirements of the public service projects.
