President Saleh visits Bani Matar

President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit Thursday to Bani Matar and Saawan of Bani Husheish, Sana’a. Saleh was welcomed to the area by senior local council officials, high-profile figures and a big crowd of citizens. He inspected the construction of Bani Matar Rainfalls Dam which is designed with a capacity for 3000,300 cubic meters and a height of 23 meters. The dam will total YR 120 million at the funding of Agriculture Production Encouragement Fund. The President also inspected Makhtan Dam in Saawan which has a capacity for 750,000 cubic meters. President Saleh praised the efforts of the involved in the construction of such vital water facilities, in order to spur on agriculture for further improvement. AA/AASABA
