President Saleh values British support to Yemen

SANA’A, May 04 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh valued the UK’s support for democratic, development and reform process in Yemen, topped by the British grant during the donors conference held on November 2006. During his meeting on Sunday with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister of State Dr. Kim Howells, Saleh hailed the Yemeni-British developing relations. The meeting discussed the latest developments in the area, particularity in Iraq and African horn in addition to the efforts exerted to fight against terrorism. They also discussed the bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Howells affirmed his country’s keenness on enhancing its relations with Yemen in different fields, renewing the British support for the democratic process, stability, security and unity of Yemen. He praised the democratic experience in Yemen and the achievements in the reform process, saying “UK stands with a progressed and united Yemen.” TD/AF Saba
