President Saleh to seek to release Alluni

SANA’A, Jan. 29 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh will talk with Spanish officials on releasing the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera channel’s correspondent Taysir Alluni who has been under house arrest. Well-informed sources said that President Saleh would present an initiative aiming at releasing Alluni within Yemen’s efforts in solidarity with him. A Spanish court has sentenced al Jazeera correspondent Taysir Allouni to 7 years in prison after convicting him of collaborating with al Qaeda. Allouni was convicted along with 17 other men. Alluni is now under house arrest due to his poor health. FR/YA Saba
