President Saleh telephones Palestinian leadership

SANA’A, June 13 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh conducted on Wednesday a telephone call with President of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbass, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyah and chairman of Hamas’ political office Khaled Mesha’al. In the call, President Saleh expressed extreme anxiety over current sorrowful developments in the Palestinian area resulted from the ongoing conflict between Fatah and Hamas movements leading to more bloodshed. He confirmed the necessity of Palestinian leadership in both Hamas and Fatah movements to have their responsibility to stop bloodshed. It is a shame on any Palestinian official in the two movements to stay in office while Palestinian bloodshed is going on, the President said, confirming that killing and bloodshed is a painful and sorrowful matter and does not serve the Palestinian case and struggle for having back their rights and realizing their independent state. For their parts, the Palestinian leadership expressed their appreciation to President Saleh’s truthful feelings and attitudes that serve the interest of Palestinian people. They confirmed that they would do their bets to put an end to the killing between the sons of Palestinian people and return to dialogue. MS/AM SABA
