President Saleh, Security Committee take security decisions
SANA’A, June 22, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Tuesday chaired a Security Committee meeting in the presence of a number of ministers. The meeting discussed reports on confrontation, in Saadah province, between the army and an outlawed group, blamed for engendering communal feuds and inciting reactionary militancy. President Saleh praised the successes of security forces and armed forces in the maintenance of law and order. The meeting took a number of decisions aimed at tightening confrontation of the outlawed elements. Meanwhile, the meeting decided that all unlicensed schools and other education facilities be closed. Under this decision, all summer student activities sponsored by religious groups, are banned unless they are under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Scientific Education or the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The meeting called on citizens to further cooperate with security authorities in carrying out their tasks. AA/NSSABA
