President Saleh receives Saudi investors

SANA’A, Oct 5 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received here on Tuesdaya visiting delegation of Saudi businessmen. In the meeting, President Saleh discussed with the delegation aspects of the investments in Yemen and the project that would be implemented by the Saudi investors in Yemen such as Yemeni-Saudi joint project of Hadramout Cement factory at capacity of 1.2 million tons at first stageat total cost of $ 100 million. The delegation expressed eagerness to invest in Yemen, pointing out to the good relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia that would provide astrong ground for enhancing the trade partnership between the two countriesto serve common interests. President Saleh said “Yemen is open for brothers in Saudi Arabia to invest in Yemen”, adding that the Saudi investments would receive all support to bolster economic interests of both country. In a statement to the Saudi al-Yawm daily newspaper, Saleh said, “we welcome Saudi investments in Yemen as they will receive all facilities.” He addedthat Yemen and Saudi Arabia have opened new era in their relations after signing the Jeddah border treaty. Regarding impacts of the latest events that Yemen witnessed on tourism,the president said the events of bombings the USS Cole and Limburg as well as the Saada events did not affect the investment potentials. He highlighted level of the security cooperation between Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying “we handed over a number of wanted peopleto the Kingdom and we also received wanted people form the Kingdom, thecooperation is good and serves security and stability of the two countries.” AH/KM SABA
