President Saleh receives phone call from U.S. President

SANA’A, July 15 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Thursday a telephone call from U.S. President Barack Obama. In the conversation, President Saleh and Obama discussed bilateral cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them. The U.S. President pointed out that his administration is considering the situation of Yemeni detainees in Guantanamo and the process of being sent them to Yemen and their rehabilitated, noting a Yemeni detainee will be released this week. For his part, President Saleh renewed Yemen’s demands to repatriate all the Yemeni detainees with their files, pointing out that the Yemeni government will take all legal actions against them under their cases and rehabilitate them as well. Obama reiterated his country’s support for security and stability of Yemen. The U.S. President also noted that he is continuing with development partners in Yemen to mobilize international efforts to support its economy and thus helping to overcome the difficulties and constraints which it faces in order to entrench its security and stability and strengthen its security efforts in the fight against terrorism.
