President Saleh receives members of al-Dalei local council

ADEN, Nov. 13 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh held on Tuesday a meeting in Aden for members of the local council in al-Dalei governorate. In the meeting, President Saleh listened to a report presented by the al-Dalei governor, the head of the local council Mohammed al-Ansi over activities of the council and several development projects in the governorate as well as the council’s future plan, which included development needs of the governorate in fields of education, health, dams, electricity and administrative complexes. The members expressed happiness to hold a meeting with president Saleh, saying that the meeting was a chance to introduce all issues concern the governorate’s citizens and the nation in general. They appreciated the president’s care of the governorate and his decision to set up a university in al-Dalei. They indicated to the struggling of the governorate’s citizens for the unification, which was a great goal of the two revolutions of 26th September and 14th October, confirming that all citizens of the governorate would encounter any separatist or who wants to create disputes among citizens and disorder security and stability. They lauded president’s initiative over making amendments on the constitution to develop political and democratic system of the country. In return, the president praised, in his speech, the patriot spirit of the members, saying that citizens of al-Dalei are “the soldiers of the unification, revolution and republic”. He noted to the current trend to shift the local authority to a local ruling system, which would widen the people’s participation in decision-making and accelerate the development process in the administrative units. The president directed the cabinet to approve the two-year development agenda of al-Dalei. He also gave orders to finalize the legal procedures to establish the university of al-Dalei and to speed up implementing development projects in the governorate in domains of roads, health, education and electricity. Saleh also ordered to set up several governmental complexes in some districts of the governorate and to complete the works in Qatabah- al-Dalei – al-Hasha – Taiz road project to facilitate transportation movement and to link al-Dalei governorate with Taiz governorate.
