President Saleh receives letter from Palestinian President

SANA’A, Oct. 05 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received here on Tuesday a letter from the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas handed over by Presidential envoy Nabil Shaath.The letter dealt with the situation in the Palestinian arena in the light of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiation brokered by the United States as well as the Israeli expansion in building settlements.The last developments in the efforts to realize the Palestinian-Palestinian reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas movements was also mentioned in the letter, which also dealt with the extraordinary Arab summit to be held in Libyan Surt city soon.During the meeting, President Saleh underlined the significance of the summit to come out with decisions that serve the Palestinian cause and put an end to the unfair Israeli siege against the Palestinian people in the stripe of Gaza. He also asserted the importance to speeding up achieving the Palestinian-Palestinian reconciliation, saying that the one and only beneficiary of the Palestinian dispute is Israel.Saleh renewed Yemen’s supportive attitude towards the Palestinian cause and his legitimate right to establish his independent state on his national soil with al-Quds as its capital.AF/AF
