President Saleh receives Czech Prime Minister
SANA’A, March 20 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received here on Thursday the Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek who is currently visiting Yemen. During the meeting, the two officials discussed the relations of mutual cooperation between the two countries and aspects of enhancing them in different fields to serve the joint interests. The meeting also dealt with the latest developments in the international and regional areas of common concern, topped by the latest development in the Palestinian arena. Topolanek affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance its relations with Yemen particularity in the economic, commercial and investment fields. He praised the Yemeni developments in the democracy experience and improvement areas, considering Yemen as a democratic country. He made reference to the successes achieved by the comprehensive reforms in Yemen and its affirmative effects on bettering the investment environment, mentioning the developments in the Middle East and his country’s attitudes toward these issues. For his part, president Saleh confirmed Yemen’s adherence to enhance its historical relations with the Czech Republic, welcoming the Czech investments in Yemen, topped by investment in the industrial field. He pointed out a number of opportunities for the Czech investors to achieve the common concerns of both countries, affirming the importance of the Czech role in European Union to support peace process in the region.
