President Saleh presides joint meeting of GPC and Cabinet
SANA’A April 13 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh, , head of the General
People Congress (GPC) chaired a joint meeting here on Thursday for the Cabinet and the General Committee of the GPC.
In the meeting, president Saleh discussed with them results of his successful and fruitful visits to China and Pakistan.
During the two visits, Yemen singed series of agreements with the two countries many in various fields.
The meeting focused also on the future plans to accelerate efforts of development and achieving the productive economic projects that would create a lot of job opportunities in order to reduce growing rate of unemployment.
The participants discussed many topics related to the cabinet’s performance for the coming period in order to upraise level of its performance that reflects on the living situations of the citizens.
In the meeting, president Saleh delivered a speech in which he talked about results of his visit to China and Pakistan and his talks with the Chinese and Pakistani officials in addition to the agreements which have been signed in the two visits.
He affirmed importance of putting the executive mechanisms by the government
to carry out those agreements.
He ordered the government to save YR 20 milliards to fund small productive projects to absorb the unemployment and create further job opportunities for youths.
He underlined importance of pacing measures of making amendments on governmental
tenders in accordance the new tends through forming an independent tending commission.
President Saleh confirmed in the meeting on the importance of role played by the medias in the awareness, pointing out to the need for presenting facts regularly for the Parliament or the public opinions and supply the medias with the correct information that would create a clear understanding for all the issues and developments which concern the citizens.

and economy and the government must to do dynamically in this respect”
Saleh said.
The cabinet approved many issues as integration of the Agriculture Credit
Bank and the Housing Bank into one bank in addition to accelerate achievements
of the investment map of the infrastructure projects .
The meeting underlined importance of taking the needed procedures related to Yemen’s accession to the World Trade Organization.
The meeting approved a weekly attendance for the Cabinet’s members to the Parliament to making clear the facts on the topics and issues needed to asking on by the Parliament or the public opinion.
The participants affirmed importance of offering care for the organizations
of the civil society through activating their roles and communication with them.
