President Saleh performs Friday Prayer at al-Saleh Mosque
SANA’A, Feb. 19 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh performed the Friday Prayer along with a big number of worshipers at al-Saleh Mosque in the Capital Sana’a. Sheikh Adel Abdul-Rahman al-Ma’wada, a member of the Bahraini Parliament, delivered the two sermons of the Prayer, in which he focused on the need to obey the leaders of Muslims, warning of disagreements and discords among Muslims and their consequences to the nation. Sheikh al-Ma’wada pointed out that the religion of Islam ‘’ordered us to be united with the leaders of the Muslims. The leaders of Muslims must be obeyed, even if we believed their acts are not in our interest’’. He expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the current conditions of Muslims, stressing that calamities will not harm only high-ranking people, but the public would be more harmed. Turning to the role of enemies in Yemen’s hardships and crisis, Sheikh al-Ma’wada said that the enemies of Islam had recognized the source of Yemen’s strength and ‘’the importance of its location, so they inflamed worries and crisis in the country”, warning of dire consequences if people raised arms against each other due to political differences. Al-Ma’wada called for the leaders of Muslims to be united… censuring the calls and sounds that want to fragment Yemen. He warned against taking sabotage and corruption acts ways to claim rights, citing harrowing situations in Somalia and Iraq. “We were criticizing Somali leaders, but are the situations in Somalia now better than before? And in Iraq, where the bloods, murders and wars became prevalent, is it better than before?’’. YA Saba
