President Saleh, Palestinian counterpart hold talks in Sana’a

SANA’A, Aug. 26 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh, along with Vice President Abdo Rabu Mansour Hadi, received here on Thursday President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas. The talks revolved around the bilateral relations, the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and peace settling efforts in the region as well. Abbas acquainted President Saleh with the Palestinian situations and updates of peace process in the Middle East in the light of the call of the US President Barack Obama to resume direct negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis, in addition to efforts to realize the inter-Palestinian reconciliation. Saleh renewed the firm supportive stance of the Republic of Yemen towards the Palestinian issue and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Quds as the capital. He affirmed that settling the just and comprehensive peace will never be a reality but after the Palestinians regain their legitimate rights, establishing their state and the commitment of Israel to decisions of the international legitimacy pertaining to the Arab-Israeli conflict. For his part, the Palestinian President praised stands of President Saleh in support for the nation’s issues, topped by the Palestinian case. AMAM
