President Saleh : Only efficient contractors should be commissioned

SANA’A, Feb 7 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh ordered the Ministry of Public Works and Roads to always ensure that only efficient bidders are commissioned to carry out vital projects such as highways and roads. President Saleh, during a visit to the ministry building on Saturday, said that contractors who have a past of failure to competently execute roads and other projects must not be trusted to arrange for supplying materials or workers more. President Saleh was received in the ministry building by minister Abdullah H. Al-Dafi’ee and other senior officials of the ministry . He was given an account on the progress of several projects of road networks linking more provinces. He ordered the acceleration of the execution of the world-class Amran-Sana’a- Taiz-Aden highway which will link most of the regions to the north and the south of the country. The six-lane road will improve traffic between the linked regions and make it safe. President Saleh cut the opening ribbon of Naqiul Yasleh new two-lane road project The road is 3.5 km long and is worth YR 250 million. The President ordered the disbursement of all due claims of contractors in accordance with agreements with made with them. AA/NM
