President Saleh: Modern fighter planes will join air forces

SANA’A, June 8 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Wednesday that modern fighter planes will join the air forces this year. Speaking to cadets graduating from the Aviation and Defense College, he said that warplanes, other than the MiG-29, would join the air forces. “These are a kind of sophisticated aircraft” with high combat aircraft purchased from Russia”, he said. “During 2004 and the past months in 2005, we have added modern equipment and gunboats from Australia, America and Poland”. “These include the modern MiG-29 aircraft which performs its sea operations efficiently.” He promised the establishment of a college of engineering for to offer a four-year program of education for the armed forces”. “It will be a modern college established in scientific manners.” AA/NS SABA
