President Saleh meets UK Premier Cameron

LONDON, Aug. 13 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh met here on Friday with the UK Prime Minister David Cameron.Saleh and Cameron reviewed the last regional and international developments of common concerns, topped by the situation in the Middle East, Somalia and African Horn.Efforts to bring peace back to Somalia and to combat terrorism and piracy were also touched up in the meeting.The President underlined the incessantly growth of the Yemeni-British relations, hailing the British supportive attitudes towards Yemen’s unity, security and stability as well as its development process.Saleh thanked the British host to the donor conference held in London in 2006 and London Meeting in 2010, affirming Yemen’s keenness on enhancing its relations with Britain and establishing a long-term partnership. He welcomed British investments to Yemen, saying they will be really cared.The President made reference to the most significant economic challenges Yemen faces, saying that the flow of foreign investments would assist in push the development forward and create job opportunities and reduce the unemployment rates that would miss the opportunity of the extremists to attract youth.For his part, the UK Premier Cameron said that Yemen’s unity, security and stability are very significant to Britain and for the region’s security, hailing Yemen’s efforts to fight on terrorism and in field of reforms.Cameron accentuated the UK support to Yemen to overcome the development challenges as well as its keenness to strengthen its partnership with Yemen.AF/AF
