President Saleh meets Three Faith Forum insider

LONDON, August 26 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh, currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom, met in his residence in London with Three Faith Forum founder Sir Sigmund Sternberg on Thursday. They highlighted topics related to dialogue of civilizations between the major divine religions and the promotion of tolerance between the followers of religions. President Saleh pointed out that Islam calls for tolerance and rejects violence saying the phenomenon of “terror and violence are global epidemics that have no religion”. He emphasized on the importance of the continuation of dialogue betweenscholars and thinkers of all religions to deepen relations the world’s nations. The British official expressed relief over the meeting with the president and the measures Yemen has taken in promoting human principles. President Saleh was awarded the forum’s decoration as a mark of honor for the Yemeni people who have strong relations with British people and in appreciation of the role of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in pushing for dialogue of civilizations.
