President Saleh meets Sudanese vice-president

SANA’A, June 23 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Wednesday in the Republican palace with the visiting First Sudanese Vice-President Ali Othman Taha. During the meeting Taha handed over a letter to president Saleh from Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir dealing with the Yemeni-Sudanese mutual cooperation relations and the current regional and international developments as well as the current development in Sudan. Taha told Saleh on the peace agreement of restoring peace in the south of Sudan and the situation in Darfor. Taha explained his thank to Yemeni president, government and people, for positive stance toward Sudan in these worst conditions. For his side president Saleh explained Yemen blessing for restoring peace in the south of Sudan and underlined Yemen’s solidarity towards Sudan. Afterthat Sudanese vice-president left Sana’a to Sudan. Taha said in remarks to Saba upon his departure that the visit was a good chance to offer President Ali Abdullah Saleh details relating to peace development in Sudan and the latest peace agreements that have been singed in Nairobi. Taha said president Saleh “is very interested to restore peace in Sudan” and that he supports those peace agreements. JW/NS SABA
