President Saleh meets officials in Taiz

TAIZ, May 09 (Saba)- In his visit to Taiz, President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Tuesday the members of local council, civil society
organizationsleaders, sheikhs and military and security leaders.

Saleh discussed with the officials a report raised by chairman of Shura council saying that there are a lot of issues concerning with
Taiz governorate,as well as some projects that have been blocked because the tenders committee suspended its missions after the government reshuffle.

He confirmed the necessity of the local authority to take part in following the under implementation and blocked projects and to
coordinate with the central authority.

Saleh also talked about the roads projects, saying the companies that handle the roads projects should be highly qualified in order to
avoidthe past mistakes.

“We have to keep on our work to fullfil all duties in our agenda for the year 2006 and to prepare for the new projects for 2007,” Saleh
said.

President Saleh said “we accept the calls of political powers for dialogue and reforms according to Yemeni law.”

Whatever happened we have not to prevail over the law to realize personal interests, Saleh stressed.

In 2008 Yemen would start exporting the liquid gas through Balhaf port in Shabwa, that would be a great step on the development way,
said Saleh.

Saleh said that celebrations on the 18th anniversary of May 22 would be in Taiz.
