President Saleh meets OCIS manager

SANA’A, April 18(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh had a meeting on Tuesday with the manager of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies (OCIS), Farhan Ahmad Nedhami who is currently visiting Yemen.

The OCIS manager told Saleh about the role being played by his center through many activities that aim to convey the Islamic civilization and good images of Islam to the world.

President Saleh discussed with Nedhami some issues related to the Islamic Ummah and the current challenges the Ummah faces, greatly appreciating the role played by the center to extend the Islamic cultures to the world and to fight the racialism as well as adopting modern methods to improve ties between the Islamic world and the west.

Nedhami highly appreciated Yemen’s attitude in supporting the Islamic and Arab issues, confirming the center’s keenness to exchange views with Yemeni researchers on different issues of common concern and to develop relations between Yemen and OCIS.
